About The Founder
My name is Sophie Surguladze and I am a high school student who loves going to Georgia and making memorable moments every summer. I'm first generation American, and both my parents were born and raised in Georgia. My mother is a refugee, and her childhood home is now a conflict zone. When I'm not playing chess, you can find me reading or obsessing over the human brain. I have a passion for healthcare and medicine. Additionally, I am fluent in speaking Georgian.
Ever since I was little, going to Georgia has been the light of my life. The people, the culture, and the country itself is the root of who I am today. Unfortunately, Georgia is struggling politically, economically, as well as socially to emerge in the modern world. Many people live below the poverty line, and the education, healthcare, and workforce systems are not up to standards in comparison to the Western world.
As I've grown up, I realize I have a responsibility to help the country I love so dearly. I will always believe America is the country of dreams, and I have been given a chance from the outside to lift up a generation of talented, but left behind kids.
Project Fulfillment
It is necessary to me that I see each of my projects through. This means hand-delivering every item and donation I have received. Those who contribute to this project's success will receive detailed letters as to where their money went and what we, as a team, have achieved. Reliability and communication can change the world!
